What We Offer

Picture
An apostille or notarial certification is a special document issued by a government to certify the authenticity of another document that originated in that government's country or state. Apostilles or notarial certifications are a way for foreign governments to easily recognize valid documents originating from other countries.
In order to adopt an easy way of recognizing foreign documents and their validity, many countries (91 of them) entered into what is known as the "Hauge Convention". Members of the Hauge Convention agreed on a standardized process, which has become known as an apostille. Apostilled document(s) are how the 91 members of the Hauge Convention have agreed to handle authentication for foreign documents, for things such as:
  • Government agency or official documents
  • Birth and death certificates
  • Court documents
  • Marriage and divorce certificates
  • School transcripts
  • Vehicle titles
  • Documents notarized by a Notary Public
  • Criminal background checks
  • Certified copies or certificates of status
You may have noticed that many of these documents are serious in nature, and that is essentially why apostilles are so important. Other countries simply cannot take your word for a documents validity on important matters such as marriage, death, or school transcripts. They want official government documentation, certifying that the document is real, and that is why states and the federal government issue apostilles. Some common reasons you may need an apostille include:
  • Establishing citizenship in a another country
  • Working in a foreign country
  • Traveling to a foreign country
  • Going to school in a foreign country
  • Doing business in a foreign country
  • Validating the authenticity of important documents in a foreign country
A notarial certification is a governments authentication of a Notary Public's active commission at the time they performed a notarization. Some documents require notarizations, apostilles, notarial certification, or a combination of all three. Generally, notarial certifications are used more in non-Hauge countries to validate the authenticity of documents.
There are a countless number of other documents and reasons as to why you may need to have a document apostilled or receive notarial certification other than the reasons or documents we listed above.
It can be tricky to navigate the process, determine what kinds of authentications you may need (both state and federal), or where to go to start the process.
That is where we come in. With our extensive experience and knowledge, we can guide you through the entire experience of getting your document(s) authenticated. All we need to know is what document(s) you need taken care of and where you're planning on sending them!
